Mimaki UCJV300-8c - MultiLayer

 Caution

The Mimaki-UCJV300-8c-ML is an experimental, non-public driver that enables printing different images across five layers. Users who request this driver through the Support team do so at their own risk.

 

Overview of drivers

Only the Mimaki UCJV300-8c and Mimaki UCJV300-8c-ML drivers support MultiLayer printing. Below are the key differences between these two drivers:

Printing Configuration Steps

  1. Set Your Printing Configuration: Begin by configuring your printing settings as usual.
  2. Drag and Drop Your Image: Import your image by dragging and dropping it from the top of your Print module.
  3. Enable White Separation:
    • Go to the Page Setup and navigate to the White tab.
    • Select the desired separation method (refer to the Spot Inks article for more information).
  4. Enable Varnish Separation:
    • In the Page Setup, go to the Varnish tab.
    • Choose the preferred separation method:
  5. Access Printer Settings:
    • Click the Settings button in the main window of the Print module.
    • Select the Printer tab.
  6. Select Layer Configuration. Choose from the following options:
    • Color: Only a colored layer is printed.
    • White: Only a white layer is printed.
    • Varnish: Only a varnish layer is printed.
    • White Over Color: A white layer is printed over the colored layer.
    • Varnish Over Color: A varnish layer is printed over the colored layer.
    • Color over White: A colored layer is printed over the white layer.
    • Color White Color: A White layer is printed between the two colored layers.
  7. Click Print: Once all settings are configured, click the Print button to start the printing process.

 

Specifics for Mimaki UCJV300-8c-ML

Layer configurations

The Mimaki UCJV300-8c-ML allows for specific layer configurations, including:

  • White over Color
  • Color over White
  • Sandwich
  • C-W-B-C (Color-White-Black-Color)
  • C-B-W-C (Color-Black-White-Color)
  • 5 Layer

 

Print Module Settings

  • When printing a white layer, ensure that Enable Separation is activated (refer to the Special Inks section).
  • For printing a black layer, prepare the image accordingly, as the driver does not automatically generate black from CMYK values.

    Do not select White mode for colored layers.
