Mimaki UCJV150 / 160 / 300 - Printer Settings

Printer tab

-4 drivers -8C drivers
  • Scan width: This option allows the user to limit the movement of the head to either the printer's full width or only the job's width. You can choose between Printer (the head scans all the printer's width) or Job (limits the head scan over the job's width only).
  • Refresh level: Select the frequency of print head refresh. You can choose between Low, Normal, High, or Very High.
  • Cut media: Enable or disable this function by checking or unchecking the box.

Only on -8C drivers:

  • Layer configuration: Enable or not the MultiLayer printing and allow you to select the order of the layers. Please refer to the MultiLayer article for more information.
  • Varnish special effect: Select the effect wanted for the varnish i.e. matte or glossy.

Media tab

  • Information: at the top of the window, you are able to see information about your media. There you have access to two actions:
    • Save: when you click on this button, the current media settings are saved to the selected media profile (printer, media, resolution, mode) so they will be applied for any new job using the same print configuration. If you don't save, the changes you made are only applied to the current job.
    • Reload: will revert back to default as set during profiling or the last saved changes.
  • Horizontal compensation (%): we recommend not to modify this. Any deviation is likely to be mechanical on the printer's side.
  • Vertical compensation (%): this can be useful if you detect an increase or decrease in the length due to heating or media tension which is common when printing on vinyl or textiles for example. To calculate the compensation, click Compute and follow the software’s instructions.

  • Dot type: Option that allows the user to select either a variable dot size (Automatic) or any fixed dot size (Large, Medium, or Small).
  • Overprint: this performs overprinting or the number of passes specified by the parameter.
  • Drying time per scan (1/10 s): Type the number wanted or use the + and - buttons. Duration is measured in 1/10 second.
  • Absorption fan: Here, you can select one of the following options Off, Low, Normal, or High.
  • Drying time (s): Type the number wanted or use the + and - buttons. Duration is measured in seconds.
  • Feed adjust: set the media feed adjustment level value. The value 0.00 disables this function (use the value set on a panel) but a number -255 and 255 enable it (use the selected feed adjustment level).
  • UV level adjustment (%): specify the UV light volume adjustment from -50% to 100%.
  • Cut tool: Choose the cut tool you want to use.
  • Cut speed: Type the number wanted or use the + and – buttons.
  • Cut acceleration: Type the number wanted or use the + and - buttons.
  • Cut force: Type the number wanted or use the + and - buttons.
