Driver history

CalderaRIP V18.1.0:

  • Mimaki CJV300 (VisualCut driver): Fixed a bug with this VisualCut driver that caused crashes when macOS users started a cut job on the Mimaki CJV150 without any associated cut marks.

CalderaRIP V17.3.1:

  • Mimaki CJV300 (VisualCut driver): Now the driver supports intermediate marks in the left/right edges of the job.

      Info

These new intermediate marks must be enabled in the Cutter Tools Configuration window, by setting a distance between marks and enabling the marks on the left and right edges.
Default settings remain as formerly set to avoid behavior changes on current configurations.

CalderaRIP V16.3

  • JV300 Plus, Revision A for 4C and 8C drivers: Fix for a communication error that caused a "Printer is already used..." error in the Spooler.
  • JV300: A new resolution (720x720-New-VD) was added to the 8-color driver, which fixes linearisation problems.

CalderaRIP V16.1.0

  • Revision A (03/2023): The CJV300 drivers now support the head selection feature. Learn more by clicking here.

CalderaRIP V15.1.2

  • Revision A (08/2022): The drivers now work even when the printer is missing an ink cartridge.

CalderaRIP V15.1

  • (06/2022): The Cut Media option is now also working for Mimaki CJV150-4c/8c and Mimaki CJV300-4c/8c.

CalderaRIP V14.0

  • Mimaki CJV300-Plus-4c/8c now supported
  • Mimaki JV300-Plus-4c/8c now supported

CalderaRIP V12

  • Revision A (03/2019): It is now possible to connect multiple Mimaki printers via USB to the same RIP station.

CalderaRIP V11

  • Revision A (10/2016): Submission of several jobs at the same time was fixed (the first job was printed, but the following jobs could get stuck in the spooler at 0%).

CalderaRIP V10.2

  • Revision E (for CJV) and D (for JV)(10/2016): Submission of several jobs at the same time was fixed (the first job was printed, but the following jobs could get stuck in the spooler at 0%).
  • Revision D (for CJV) and C (for JV) (07/2016): Now you can print and cut immediately (CJV only). Fixed dot, when the print was not done at the origin. Also, now the margins set in the Administration Server are taken into account.
  • Revision B (03/2016): Fixed bidirectional fuzzy prints occurred in some rare cases while using the default waveform.
  • Revision A (02/2016): Fixed issue when disabling "top blower strength" in printer parameters (the printer was producing a beep and displaying "Error 202 parameter”).
    • (4 colors only) Fixed issue while printing a file with horizontal shift (the print could have been printed half on the edge and half with a good position).

 Tips & tricks

If your printer displays a "Printer is already used" message, it's because in the printer firmware, a token mechanism allows only one connection at the same time. The first software that takes the token, keeps it until you close the software.

If you have the message "Printer is already used by Name / Serial Number / IP Address", it means that another software already locked the communication, and you need to stop it to be able to communicate with the printer. It can happen if:

  • You have VisualCut and the print client open at the same time.
    • This is difficult to identify if you have a client/server configuration, but check the IP address in the message
  • You have another RIP software in the same network that connects to the printer

The solution (depending on your configuration), is:

  • Close the additional RIP software
  • Close VisualCut
  • Or stop the driver on the ServerAdmin module
