Océ ProCut Driver

Supported models

This driver is intended for Zünd cutters running Océ ProCut software instead of ZCC software.

Driver

  • Oce ProCut

Driver History

  • CalderaRIP V17.3
    • A new "Add direction mark" checkbox was added to the Misc. area of the Cutter Tools Configuration for almost all cutting drivers. Activating this new field adds direction marks in the form of a triangle pointing to the bottom edge of the cut job, which significantly speeds up the operators' work when managing these files.
  • CalderaRIP V15
    • Supported since this version

Installation

  Info

In the past, different cutting devices required separate licenses: CutServer for roll-to-roll cutters, GrandCut (A or B) for flatbed cutters, and a cut option for trimmers. This resulted in different installation methods depending on the device.
Today, annual subscribers and perpetual license holders with CalderaCare can use any CalderaRIP‑supported cutting device without an additional license.

Why this Driver?

In earlier versions of CalderaRIP, users had to rely on the Zünd Cut Center (ZCC) driver, which was not designed for use with Océ ProCut software. As a result, the generic XML configuration provided only limited functionality:

  • Materials could not be mapped without a connection to the controller
  • Media-to-material and contour-to-method associations were more difficult to configure

The Océ ProCut driver resolves these issues by providing the same standard options available in Zünd Cut Center, making it easier to configure materials and cutting methods directly within the driver:

Key Differences Between the Two Drivers

  • The Media and ZCC Materials tabs have been removed. The driver now uses a generic interface for handling media-to-material and contour-to-method associations.
  • The Diagnostics tab has been removed.
  • An Import tab has been added.

How to Set Up Methods and Materials?

Step 1: Export Media from ProCut

Export the media definitions using the Cut Media Manager in ProCut. This operation generates a ZIP file containing all material XML definitions.

On Windows systems, the default location for materials is:

C:\ProgramData\Oce\ProCut Server\CutMedias

This directory contains an XML file for each media, including all associated settings. Note that this directory can be customized depending on your ProCut configuration.

Step 2: Import Media from the CutMedias Directory

Before importing the media, the driver will display the following message:

  1. Open the Import tab.
  2. Click the three‑dots menu.
  3. Enter the path to your CutMedias directory, either by copy‑pasting it or selecting it via the file browser.
  4. Click Import:

A successful import will be indicated by a change in the status message. You may need to close and reopen the window to refresh the display:

Step 3: Configure Methods and Materials

Once the media has been imported, you can configure:

  • Contour-to-method associations
  • Printer media-to-material associations

These settings can be defined in their respective tabs within the driver. The configuration process is similar to the one used in Zünd Cut Center 3 or CalderaXML drivers. For more details, please refer to the dedicated article.
