There is no dedicated cutter driver available for Trotec Laser cutters. Instead, the Generic DXF (Legacy GrandCut B) driver must be used and configured appropriately.
Installation
Info
In the past, different cutting devices required separate licenses: CutServer for roll-to-roll cutters, GrandCut (A or B) for flatbed cutters, and a cut option for trimmers. This resulted in different installation methods depending on the device.
Today, annual subscribers and perpetual license holders with CalderaCare can use any CalderaRIP‑supported cutting device without an additional license.

The installation process is similar to that of other cutters; you just need to adjust the settings. You can refer to this article for details on adding a new flatbed cutter to the CalderaRIP.
To adapt to your Trotec Laser cutter, you need to select the Generic DXF driver in the Cutter parameters window:
- Name: Choose a name (it will appear in the cutters list)
- Model: Select Generic DXF
- Queue: Choose a directory where your cutting files will be saved. This can be a shared folder with the controller.
- Hostname: It is not used because there is no network connection; leave it as is.
Configuration
Input PDF file
You need to have a CutContour with the following parameters:
- Color RGB = {255, 0, 0}
- Thickness = 0.001 mm
Marks and Margins
To adapt to your Trotec Laser cutter, you must use custom margins to configure the thickness of the cutting marks with the following parameter:
- Thickness: 6.00 mm
Margins and mark offsets can optionally be adjusted to better optimize media usage. However, ensure that enough space is maintained around the marks so they can be reliably detected during processing:
Compatibility With the Cutter Controller
- Job Control®: The .DXF output generated by this driver is compatible with Job Control®.
- Ruby® software: The .DXF output generated by this driver is not yet compatible with Ruby®. You need to generate a .PDF file for this controller.
