Trotec Laser Driver

There is no specific driver for Trotec Laser cutters, Generic DXF (GrandCut B) driver must be used and configured accordingly.

What is the configuration to apply?

Regarding your input PDF file

You need to have a CutContour with the following parameters:

  • Color RGB = {255, 0, 0}
  • Thickness = 0.001 mm

Regarding the cutter configuration in CalderaRIP

The process is similar to other cutters, you just need to adapt the parameters. You can refer to this article for details on adding a new cutter to the CalderaRIP.

To adapt to your Trotec Laser cutter, you need to select the Generic DXF driver in the Cutter parameters window:

  • Name: choose a name (will appear in the cutters list)
  • Model: Select Generic DXF
  • Queue: choose a directory where your cutting files will be saved. This can be a shared folder with the controller.
  • Hostname: not used, since there is no network connection, leave it as-is.

How to set up marks and margins?

To adapt to your Trotec Laser cutter, you have to use custom margins in order to configure the thickness of your marks with the following parameters:

  • Thickness = 6.00 mm
  • Optionally margins and marks offsets may be adjusted to your needs to save media, but you must keep enough space around marks for detection
