Modes

  Info

Printer driver(s) compatible with Custom Inksets. For more information, partners and resellers should consult the Partners Portal; end users can find details on our website.

Most models support the following modes:

  • CMYK
  • CMYKk
  • CMYKcm
  • CMYKcmk
  • CMYKO
  • CMYKOGV

Excepted for S models (Impala-4S-i, Nyala-4S-i), which only support CMYK.

  Tips & tricks

If you want to use a mode based on CMYKc, select the CMYKcm mode. In the printer settings, the Light Magenta ink must still be mapped in the ink reordering; otherwise, an error message will appear. However, because this channel is not actually used, only the CMYKc inks will be addressed.

By default, four Special Inks are linked to the printers:

  • Primer
  • Varnish
  • White Underlay
  • White Overlay

For more information on how to use these special inks, please refer to the Spot Inks article.

Resolutions

  Info

2L stands for 2 Levels. This mode uses binary printing, meaning that each printed dot is either present or absent, unlike grayscale printing, which uses multiple drop sizes or density levels to reproduce tones.

Qualities

  Info

Custom qualities can be defined by the operator in the Amber controller. There is a distinction between qualities and materials. Qualities are predefined pass settings, which are used in combination with materials. Materials correspond to profiled media. All custom qualities and materials can be defined by the operator in the Amber controller.

FA stands for Fine Art.

Actions

As these printers use a controller, the printer drivers support only the following two actions:

  • Print
  • Nest

In this sense, these printer drivers do not support “RIP”, “RIP then Print”, or “Keep Ripped File”.
