swissQprint generation 1 - Spot Inks

Spot Ink tabs

By default, 4 Special Inks are linked to the printer:

  • Primer
  • White Overlay
  • White Underlay
  • Varnish

Each of them have a specific tab in the Page Setup window. To have some details on these specific tabs, please refer to this article about Spot Inks.

Apart from the standard behavior of these special Inks, for most of them, you can set a specific Quality and Print field located as show below.

 

Primer

In the Primer tab, you only have a Quality field. 6 qualities are available:

  • Prime 1 (P1)
  • Prime 2 (P2)
  • Prime 3 (P3)
  • Custom 1
  • Custom 2
  • Custom 3

 

White-Under

In the White-U tab, 6 qualities are available:

  • Translucent
  • Semi Translucent
  • Opaque
  • Custom 1
  • Custom 2
  • Custom 3

You can also choose between 3 Print configurations:

  • Underlay: the White is printed under the colors
  • Spot: the White is treated as a Spot Color
  • Color-White-Color: sandwich mode where the white is printed between two colored layers

 

White-Over

In the White-O tab, 6 qualities are available:

  • Translucent
  • Semi Translucent
  • Opaque
  • Custom 1
  • Custom 2
  • Custom 3

You can also choose between 3 Print configurations:

  • Underlay: the White is printed under the colors
  • Spot: the White is treated as a Spot Color
  • Color-White-Color: sandwich mode where the white is printed between two colored layers

 

Varnish

In the Varnish tab, 7 qualities are available:

  • Matt
  • Semi Gloss
  • Gloss
  • Drop Gloss
  • Custom 1
  • Custom 2
  • Custom 3

You can also choose between 2 Print configurations:

  • Overlay: the Varnish is printed above the colors
  • Spot: the Varnish is treated as a Spot Color
