Tips & Tricks
- The driver queries the printer for the list of available modes:
- If no printer is connected, or if the request fails, the driver uses the most recently known list of modes. Some of these modes may not work once a printer is connected.
- If the request succeeds and the mode list is up to date, the driver starts normally, and all listed modes should work with the connected printer.
- If the request succeeds but the current mode list is outdated, the driver must restart to update its mode list. A message is displayed to inform the user that a restart is required, and the driver exits:
In this case, the user must restart the driver manually.
- Some of these printer models allow you to create user modes with different ink combinations. Contact MS Printing Solutions for more information.
- These printers have the option to duplicate a pattern along the media. This can be triggered by selecting the "Use Printer S&R" option for optimization (last option available in Page Setup > S&R > Textile):
- If your printer driver exhibits unexpected behaviour, the "Low-level reports" feature can generate logs that may help to identify the problem. Follow these steps to use it:
- Open CalderaRIP.
- Open ServerAdmin and select your printer.
- Click on "Configure...". Then, go to the Misc tab.
- Check the "Low-level reports" box to enable it and restart the driver to validate the changes (the software will prompt you for this).
- Once the low-level reports are enabled, reproduce the issue.
- Save/Recover the report to check what's wrong with the driver.
