This article details various use cases for multilayer printing, clarifying its functionality across different software versions and file types.
Prerequisites
- CalderaRIP is installed with the appropriate S80600 or S80600-ML driver (selection based on the specific case).
-
The printer is calibrated (a color profile is installed).
Info
To simulate real production, we created Calpatch files with test profiles used in the videos below. If you wish to test the multilayer functions on your workstation, color profiles are not required; however, a proper calibration is necessary for actual production.
- The following images are required:
- Flamingo_White-Colors.pdf (Standard Multilayer file, prepared in PrimeCenter, to be used with a previously saved layer arrangement "White-Color")
- Flamingo_Color-White-Color.pdf (Standard Multilayer file, prepared in PrimeCenter, to be used with a previously saved layer arrangement "Color-White-Color")
Multilayer in V18.2
S80600 Driver, 3 Layers (Color-White-Color)
Multilayer in V19
S80600-ML Driver, 3 Layers (Color-White-Color)
S80600-ML Driver, 3 Layers (Color-White-Color) + Previously saved layer arrangement
Considerations
- The printer model designated for the American market supports printing with 1 or 2 layers only. Models available in other regions support printing with 1 to 3 layers.
-
Potential Error Messages:
- "[Filename] Unavailable: 3-layer printing functionality”: This error indicates that the printer model does not support 3-layer printing, which applies to North American printers.
- "[Filename] Misconfiguration: Layers and quality mismatch, incorrect layer configuration”: Ensure that the selected print quality is compatible with white or metallic ink. Refer to the provided table for detailed compatibility information.
