You are advised to export any custom media before installing the new driver. Please ensure that you completely uninstall the old driver before proceeding. In order to work correctly, the printer driver(s) has to be configured.
Good to know

- Open the ServerAdmin module.
- Choose your printer from the list.
- Then, press the Configure… button.

Go to the first tab, "Connection", and enter the IP address of your HP printer:

CalderaRIP will RIP the image files directly to the folder of the IPS. This folder must be created on the HP printer. Please consult the HP documentation for instructions and to verify JMF compatibility.
Example with JMF activated Example with JMF deactivated For HP Latex 3000 Series:
- Enter the printer's IP address to enable dynamic substrate list retrieval.
- Type the printer's JMF URL to establish communication. If JDF functionality is not required, do not enter the IPS URL information.
- You can find the printer's IP address and JMF URL in the printer's computer under Tools > Preferences > General. Look for the Network IP and JMF connection URL information.

Mount the remote folder according to your OS:
Linux procedure macOS procedure On Linux this remote folder has to be mounted in the file system of your Caldera Workstation. On macOS, click on the Shared folder. It should be mounted and visible in the Mounted Share tab. If the folder is not yet mounted, follow the steps below:

Click the "Go"menu:
- Select "Connect to Server".
- Click the Browse" button or enter the IP address of the IPS server in the address field, formatted like this: smb://ip-address<(e.g.,>smb://192.168.1.250):
- Press the "Connect" button. If prompted for a username and password, consult your network administrator.
- Choose the shared folder from the IPS server.
- Click "OK". The shared folder is now mounted in your file system.

- Once the folder mounted, go back to ServerAdmin to define the folder and path where the files are saved after being ripped.

Go to second tab ("Files"):

- Then browse to the IPS folder/<sharename>/ and click Open. The root should look like:
/mnt/<HOSTNAME>/<sharename>/ ("HOSTNAME" being the hostname of the IPS)
or /Volumes/<HOSTNAME>/<sharename> (if you are using a macOS). - Press the "Proceed" button.
- Enter the administration password: "caldera".
Tips & tricks
- If you are an Ubuntu user experiencing issues with corrupted TIFF files, please refer to the dedicated article.
- These devices allow the use of dual roll, so it is possible to print different images on each roll using the Compose module. Check out the dedicated article to learn more.
- Within the ServerAdmin module, there is a tab called "Misc", where you will find options to fix unexpected behaviors with your HP Latex 3X00 devices:
- Driver Reset: This action clears any cached files stored by the driver, effectively resetting it to its factory defaults. Clicking this button will remove the internal media database, the internal quality index, and the ICC cache file.
