Misc GenericPRT2 - Driver setup for the Impact i3 CEJ180X-TX (i3200)

The Impact i3 CEJ180X-TX (i3200) printers have partial support in CalderaRIP. To operate them, you must use a generic driver and make specific adjustments. This article outlines the necessary steps.

 

Download and install the driver

Follow the steps in this article. In step 1, search for the "GenericPRT2-Large" driver by selecting "Misc" as the manufacturer.

 

Connection

The printer driver generates a PRT file (printer file) that must be submitted using the software provided by the printer manufacturer, typically designed for Windows PCs.

Resolutions

The driver requires the following resolutions to be added; any other resolutions can be removed:

  • 360x1800-3Pass-3Drops

  • 720x1200-4Pass-3Drops

  • 720x1800-4Pass-3Drops

 

Loading

Any roll size exceeding 71.6 inches (1820 mm) should be removed. The maximum printable area is 70.8 inches (1800 mm).

Quality

In the Print Module, set the Quality to Auto-select to ensure it uses the appropriate number of passes defined by the resolution:

In the printer driver settings (wrench icon), the following specific settings for the ripped file header are required:

 

Also in Printer Settings, if you go to the Inks tab, you can customize the order of the inks according to your printer settings:

Once the driver has been configured, it is recommended to use presets.

 

Color Calibration

For the initial test print, it is recommended to print a linearization target from EasyMedia to ensure the inks are printed in the correct order. 

If the inks are out of order (not matching the linearization preview), you can adjust the ink order in EasyMedia under the Target Print Settings menu, in the Special Options > Inks section:
