CalderaDock: Services Utility

This article explains how to use the "Services" utility from the CalderaDock application.

What is a "Service"?

In software, a service is a program that runs in the background to perform specific tasks or provide functionality to other applications.

Services operate without direct user interaction, ensuring continuous availability for real-time processing. This approach allows for easier updates and maintenance, as individual components can be modified without affecting the entire system.

What is the Services utility for?

The Services utility serves the following purposes:

  • Resets the license (only on the license server).
  • Stops the printer drivers server running in ServerAdmin (CalderaRIP).
  • Resets the services for "calserver" and "calbridge" (Nexio).

The Services utility in the CalderaDock application allows you to start, stop, and restart the following applications:

  • CalderaRIP
  • PrimeCenter
  • Caldera REST API
  • Caldera DTX RIP

You can access it from the Tools tab > Utilities.
