CalderaDock: Restore Config

The CalderaDock Restore Config feature allows you to restore the saved printer configurations from the Save Config option.

TIP:  The restore procedure does require some prep work, that is the CalderaRIP and the printers, including the duplication of printers of the same make and model, does need to be preinstalled and the name of the printers has to match the original setup before performing the Restore Config procedure.

Example: If you have 2 CalderaJet printers, CalderaJet-1 and CalderaJet-2 named on the original, you will need to duplicate the second driver and rename both printers to CalderaJet-1 and CalderaJet-2 (and so on if there were more than 2 printers of the same name). In other words, all the printers' name must match the original setup for the Restore Config to work.

CAUTION:  Although this option can work, it does have limitations and the variables could be the OS version, the CalderaRIP version, CalderaDock version along with the printer make & model or a combinations of each.

NOTE:  If the RestoreConfig does not work, you will need to manually configure the printers.

To restore your printer configurations, proceed to the following procedures.

Launch CalderaDock > Home (tab) > Restore Config > then click Launch

Click Choose and navigate to the location of the Caldera_Config_Date-Saved.tgz file then click, Restore.

Note: The loaded file must be in the .tgz (zip format) in order for the Restore Config to work.

Enter the user's password (of the computer) and click OK.

You will then get a message, "Restore Config Successfully Executed!". Click OK to finalize.

Again, weather the Restore Config works or not depends upon the TIP and CAUTION mentioned.
