This article outlines how to restore previously saved printer configurations for CalderaRIP, using the CalderaDock Restore Config feature. These configurations are created using the Save Config option and can be reapplied when reinstalling or rebuilding a system.
Considerations
- Before running the restore procedure, ensure that CalderaRIP and all required printers are already installed.
- If multiple printers of the same manufacturer and model were used in the original setup, they must also be duplicated and named exactly the same as before.
Example: If the original configuration included two printers named "CalderaJet‑1" and "CalderaJet‑2", you must install two drivers for the same printer model and rename them "CalderaJet‑1" and "CalderaJet‑2".
All printer names must match the original configuration for the restore process to work correctly. - The restore process may not work in all cases. Compatibility can depend on several factors, including operating system version, softwares version, printer manufacturer and model, or a combination of the all those variables.
- If the Restore Config procedure fails, the printers must be reinstalled and configured manually.
