Ganging groups files into separate nests based on metadata, which is useful when customer jobs must remain distinct.
Tips & tricks
If you do not want to separate files into different nests, use Sorting instead.
Configuring Ganging
PrimeCenter V4.3
- Open the Nesting settings.
- Before V4.3, locate the Ganging option. Starting from V4.3, go to Advanced settings, and locate Group files into separate layouts by.
- Select a metadata from the list to automatically group files into separate layouts based on that metadata.

Example: ganging stickers by size
A printing request includes stickers of three different sizes:

Steps to gang jobs by size
- In Nesting settings, select Gang name as the Ganging metadata.
- In the File manager, assign Gang name values to each image:
- All large stickers: Set Gang name = LARGE.
- All medium stickers: Set Gang name = MEDIUM.
- All small stickers: Set Gang name = SMALL.
- Insert all images in the Studio and generate the layouts.
✅ Result: Three separate layouts: one for large, one for medium, and one for small stickers.
