Managing files in PrimeCenter

The File manager in PrimeCenter is where all incoming files are loaded and organized.

Accessing the File manager

Prior to V4.0 Starting from V4.0

The File manager is recipe-specific, with one File manager for each recipe. You can access the File manager from the left panel > Files tab > File manager.

All imported files are loaded into this File manager. When processing files manually, you can select files from the File manager and insert them into a layout to process them.

Viewing files

View types

Files can be displayed in two different views. Switch between thumbnail view and list view by clicking  /  in the toolbar.

A number, placed on the thumbnail or next to the file name, depending on the view you have selected, indicates how many copies of the file are included in the selected layout.

Adjust the layout of thumbnails by configuring these options in Settings > Interface:

  • Files per page: Set how many files appear on one page.
  • Files per row: Define the number of thumbnails displayed per row for better readability.

Search and filter options

  • Search: Quickly locate files by entering a file name or page number (added in V4.3) in the search bar.
  • Filter by odd or even pages: Useful for tasks like double-sided printing where you only need to insert odd pages.
  • Sort files: Sort by name or import date, in ascending or descending order.

Auto-alignment

Feature available starting from PrimeCenter V4.0.

When inserting files in the Studio, they are automatically aligned in a grid to provide a clearer overview without overlapping. This is a basic alignment for visualization purposes only, not a rectangular nesting that optimizes media usage.

You can enable or disable auto-alignment from the bottom bar of the Studio, by clicking SmartPlacement_ON.svg. To adjust vertical and horizontal spacing between images, go to Settings > Interface tab.
