Adobe PDF Print Engine issue - "AMM Exhausted" or "GraphImageStorage out of memory"

Sympton

An “AMM Exhausted” or "GraphImageStorage out of memory" error during the ripping process.

Issue

This error indicates that the Adobe PDF Print Engine is running out of resources.

Solutions

  • If the printer driver allows it, set the print action to "RIP then Print" to see if this resolves the issue.
  • Additionally, in the global settings of Adobe PDF Print Engine, change the "Flattening Behavior for Printing" from Standard to Global (or vice versa). For further details, please refer to this troubleshooting article.
  • Consider ripping the file at a lower resolution, as outlined in the relevant troubleshooting. If necessary, also disable 16-bit rendering to avoid memory allocation errors during the ripping process.
  • If possible, try to reduce the file size or to flatten the image before importing it into CalderaRIP.
  • Investigate the file in the design software to check if it might be faulty.
