Caldera Snapshots - Overview

Caldera Snapshots is a module of the CalderaDock application introduced in Version 1.3.0 designed to facilitate the saving and restoration of settings within your Caldera products:

  • CalderaRIP (Version 12 or later)
  • As of CalderaDock V3.3, PrimeCenter (regardless of its version)
  • As of CalderaDock V3.15, Caldera Direct-to-Film RIP (regardless of its version)
  • As of CalderaDock V3.16, Caldera Direct-to-Garment RIP (regardless of its version)

  Good to know

You can get CalderaDock's latest version from WorkSpace's dashboard. If you have any problem with the installation of CalderaDock, click here.

This tool enables you to quickly upgrade or downgrade your software in just a few minutes, making it especially valuable if you encounter issues that prevent your ability to work optimally, such as a license mismatch, software regression, or adjustments in your workflow.

Overview

The Caldera Snapshots module is available in the Home and Applications tabs of CalderaDock.

What is saved?

  • CalderaRIP
  • Printer drivers (the .calpatch files, but not the presets/PrintConfigs)
  • Profiles (the EasyMedia setup, but not the presets/PrintConfigs)

  Info

To save other elements like driver presets, you need to import/export them or use another CalderaDock utility called Save Config. For saving previously spooled jobs, you will need CalderaJobs. All current backup options for CalderaRIP are documented in a dedicated article.

  • PrimeCenter
  • Application files (which enable you to revert to a previous version)
  • Interface settings
  • Media and formats
  • All the recipes including their configuration, files in the File Manager, and layouts.
  • Default settings of recipes
  • List of cutters and contour names
  • Callas Profiles (starting with CalderaDock V3.4.1)
  • Caldera Direct-to-X RIP
  • Application files (which enable you to revert to a previous version)
  • Interface settings
  • Media and formats
  • Printers and presets
  • Files in the File Manager

  Warning

  • Display issue in the application registry: In Windows/Ubuntu (command line only), the installed applications registry might incorrectly display a newer version of your software even after reverting to an older version.
  • License rollback concern: Rolling back may restore your software with its previously attached license. If the license has been changed since the backup, the software might be linked to an expired or deleted license, requiring reattachment to the updated license.
