Load profiles on EasyMedia

This article will show you how to automatically and manually import your media settings from the EED platform to EasyMedia.

Prerequisites

  • To have EED installed on your workstation and your printer registered (need help with this? Click here).
  • Install the necessary EMX files and transfer them to your printer (need help with this? Click here).
  • Ensure that the Caldera printer driver is correctly configured in the ServerAdmin module and verify that the serial number of the printer has been entered correctly.

      Info

When using the Auto-detection button, it automatically looks for your printer on your network and the Serial/Printer Name field is automatically filled.

Automatic Synchronization

You can use a button to automatically add all profiles that were stored on the printer using EED.

  1. Open EasyMedia*.
*EasyMedia is named ProfileExpert in the TextilePro interface.
  2. Select your printer and open its list of media.
  3. Then click on the Import button:

  4. Click AutoSync, this allows you to automatically import EMX files.

      Warning

If AutoSync is not visible, you will be unable to import EMX files. This indicates that your RIP station cannot detect the EED on the network, which may be due to an antivirus program or firewall on the workstation where the EED is installed.

  5. Then choose from the options:
    • Missing presets only: Loads only profiles that are not in EasyMedia yet.
    • Full reset: Loads all printer profiles. This is the one we use for this example.

      Warning

The "Full Reset" option will delete your current customized profiles.

Manual Synchronization

It is also possible to manually import your EMX files into EasyMedia. This option is especially useful when the printer has already profiles installed in the slots and the original EMX files are available (usually on the system that was originally used to install the profiles) or if there are problems installing the Epson Edge Dashboard on the system hosting the CalderaRIP.

To perform a manual synchronization, follow these steps:

  1. Click on EasyMedia, select your printer model, and click Next.
  2. Click on Import:

  3. Now click Install Patch to start importing your EMX files. If you have many EMX files, you will have to import them one by one:
