Spooler - Queues

The Job Queue is divided into three areas:

Running jobs

Lists jobs that are ripping or printing, jobs that are pending and/or are nested, and jobs that are blocked. These jobs may be waiting to be released or are pending until a condition has been met. This queue lists the following job information:

  • Job: Name of file.
  • Type: File type.
  • Destination: Shows whether the job is to be printed directly, saved on disk, or both.
  • Progress: Progress of action as a percentage.

Completed Jobs

Lists completed jobs and ripped jobs that have not been printed. This queue lists the following job information:

  • Job: Name of file.
  • Type: File type.
  • Time: Time to print the job.
  • Copies: Number of copies required.
  • Done: Number of copies already done.
  • Cutting: Lists if a cutting file was generated with the print (if applicable).

Errored jobs

Lists jobs that haven’t been completed due to an error or have been aborted. This queue lists the following job information:

  • Job: Name of file.
  • Type: File type.
  • Copies: Number of copies required.
  • Done: Number of copies already done.
  • Message: Lists the error message.

Insufficient disk space error

Since CalderaRIP V18.1, we improved user experience by adding warnings to the software when disk space is low, specifically at the 10 GB threshold, before submitting a job:

Users can continue to print or rip files; however, if the disk space drops below 5 GB, an error message will notify them that the job cannot be executed.

In this case, users can still submit the job to the Spooler queue, where it will appear in the error queue along with a message indicating that it could not be processed due to insufficient disk space:

  Info

If your job is stuck in the Spooler due to insufficient disk space, please free the space first, and then relaunch the job (also from the Spooler).

When using workflows and hotfolders (automation), the warning for 10 GB of available disk space will not be shown. However, the 5 GB error message will appear, and jobs will be marked as "aborted" in the Spooler.

Actions available from the job queues

To open the action menu, select a job and right-click on it. The available actions may vary slightly depending on whether you clicked on a job in the list of running jobs (as shown in the following example), completed, or errored jobs:

  • Prior, Abort, Purge, Block, Print, Settings..., and Reopen: These actions are the same as those present at the bottom of the Spooler window. Please refer to the dedicated article for more information about them.
  • Copy to (available in Administrator mode only): Copies the selected job to send to another printer queue. The printer can be either on the same workstation or another one.
  • Move to (available in Administrator mode only): Moves the selected job to another printer’s queue. The printer can be either on the same workstation or another one.

  • Running jobs:
    • Block all: Block all jobs and place them in the "Errored jobs" queue.
    • Abort all: Abort all jobs in the "Running jobs" queue. The running job is placed in the "Errored job" queue, whereas the other jobs are simply deleted (unless they were previously completed).
    • Abort all waiting jobs: Delete all jobs in the "Running jobs" queue, except the one that is currently running.
  • Errored jobs:
    • Print all: Moves all jobs to the "Running jobs" queue to be processed.
    • Delete all: Remove the job from the Spooler.
    • Delete all non-printable jobs: Remove all jobs from the Spooler that cannot be printed (e.g. after a purge).

  • Open Preview...: As the name implies, it opens a preview of the job within CalderaRIP.
  • Export Preview...: This action allows you to send a preview of the job to any workstation location you require (it is also possible to send the preview to remote destinations).
