  Warning

White and gloss spot inks are optional on these printers, so they are unlocked in the printer controller. However, your Canon's controller must have a license that allows you to use these, as well as the multilayer and special resolutions.
You can check your licenses in the ServerAdmin module (as described below) or contact Canon for more information.

 Tips & tricks

Connection of Caldera's driver to the printer controller

A connection to the controller is required to create media according to the retrieved media types list. You can make the connection through the ServerAdmin module:

  1. Click on the module
  2. Select the Colorado-XL
  3. Then click on Configure. Another pop-up will open
  4. You can set the connection correctly at the bottom of the Connection tab

Using Spot Inks and Special Resolutions

Also in the ServerAdmin module: At the top of the Connection tab, you can access the different licenses to use Spot Inks and special resolutions. Click here to consult the article dedicated to this topic.

Under the Special Inks tab, there is a setting to lock the use of gloss. Note that any option you might have under this tab will depend on the Canon controller's license.

Considerations

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware version to avoid production issues.
  • Media and resolution-specific parameters can be set only through the EasyMedia module, which means that these parameters are not visible or editable at the last moment in the Print Module Interface. We have an entire article dedicated to media management on these printers, click here to read it.
