A key objective of CalderaRIP is to enable distributed computing within a client/server architecture. The ServerAdmin module serves as the interface for managing print servers, whether they are located locally or accessed remotely. |
Good to know
The ServerAdmin module can be accessed in 3 different ways:
- Via the Settings tab, in the Main Interface
- Via the Modules menu (or Special menu, for users of V17 or before) in the ApplicationBar
- Using the
Alt-ikeyboard shortcut
Module layout
To manage a fleet of the same printer, you can easily Stop, Uninstall, Duplicate, or Rename it from this main interface.
The Configure button allows you to access options related to connection, automated nesting, pages/rolls, resolutions, and special inks for each of your printers or print servers. To learn more, please refer to the dedicated articles:

- Low-level report: This is the driver's log. If your driver presents unexpected behaviors, this feature is useful for identifying the problem. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Check the corresponding box to enable it and restart the driver to validate the changes (the software will prompt you for this).
2. Once the low-level reports are enabled, reproduce the issue.
3. Save/Recover the report to check what's wrong with the driver. - Driver reset: This will remove any cache file kept internally by the driver to "reset" the driver to "factory default. Clicking this button will remove the internal media database, internal quality index, and the ICC cache file.

At the bottom of the interface, you can view and search for Hosts. You will also see a Devices button that will show you Caldera's server hardware and connectivity, as well as a Setup button that allows you to manage a couple of global print server options:
- To change the language of your printer servers.
- You can specify from what amount of available megabytes on the hard disk you will receive warning messages (to avoid production problems due to a lack of disk memory).
- Hardware Acceleration - Overview
- You can also reset your Caldera's administration password.
