Epson Edge Dashboard for Linux is not supported on Epson P and T Series

Symptoms

When using Epson Edge Dashboard (EED) on Linux, Epson SureColor P Series and T Series printers cannot be registered.

Cause

The Linux version of Epson Edge Dashboard is not supported on models that require Epson Media Installer for media management. This includes SureColor P Series and T Series printers.

Additional Information

Epson SureColor P Series and T Series printers don't support direct media synchronization with third‑party software such as CalderaRIP.

Media is managed using Epson Media Installer, which downloads and installs paper data (ICC profiles, print modes, and print-control parameters) to the printer, and Epson Edge Dashboard (for Windows and macOS), which monitors multiple printers and can copy custom paper settings between devices.

A Linux version of EED may still be downloadable from some Epson regional websites. However, its availability does not mean that Linux registration is supported for these printer models.

Solution

Registration of these printers in EED on Linux is not supported.

A workaround may be possible by running Epson Edge Dashboard and Epson Media Installer on a supported operating system such as Windows or macOS, while CalderaRIP runs on Linux on the same network.

In this configuration, printer information may be retrieved through Epson’s API. For more information about this setup, please contact Epson directly.
