CalderaRIP V16.2 - Changelog

  Info

  • All users: During the installation, some configurations run in the background and these may seem relatively slow (especially on virtual machines). When the installation finishes, you will be asked to reboot: please do not force the reboot yourself, as you may end up with an incomplete installation.
  • MacOS Ventura users: If an XQuartz update message appears after the CalderaRIP installation, please do not upgrade since the latest versions of this application present compatibility issues. If done already, then follow the instructions in this article to downgrade.

Version 16.2.0

  Caution - Known issue

CostView: Some users are experiencing problems using this module of CalderaRIP. More info

Modules

Fixed

Adobe PDF Print Engine: Only in macOS X, version 6 of this tool was downgraded to 5.5 due to a development incompatibility that caused unexpected behavior in CalderaRIP's color management (more info).

Thus, the forced workaround to use Adobe CMM (which prevented the use of some specific Caldera features like InkPerformer, etc. since V16.0.1) has been removed as well.

Adobe and Caldera are working hard to provide the capability to use CalderaCMM with APPE 6 on MacOS as soon as possible.

Known issue

CostView: can't launch the module

The CostView module is not working correctly on some workstations. This is due to a problem with the installation of the Caldera webserver. The workaround is to do a manual installation. Instructions vary depending on the operating system you are using:

For Linux OS users

  • Please download CalderaDock V2.1, which includes Caldera webserver as one of the Setup Tools.
  • If the previous doesn't work, please do the Caldera webserver installation completely manually.
Click here to see the manual installation
  • Download the .zip file: caldera_webserver.zip.
  • Extract the .zip file.
  • Go to the folder caldera_webserver.
    • For Linux Ubuntu: right-click on Ubuntu-installer.sh and use Run as a program.
    • For Linux Debian: double-click on Install.desktop.
  • Enter credentials and the installation will start.
  • You are now able to use the CostView module.

For macOS users

  • Please refer to this article for explanations on how to run the Caldera webserver. Then you will be able to launch CostView.
