Connection
The HP PageWide XL Pro Series are printers equipped with a controller. To connect your CalderaRIP with the controller, please follow the following steps:
- Choose an "LP" connection type in ServerAdmin (go to ServerAdmin > Configure > Connection).
- Fill in the "Host/IP address" of your printer or choose the "Auto-detection" feature to be able to link your printer with CalderaRIP:

Loading & Media
You can choose the available media name and Roll width in the menu or use the "Easy select" button to query the printer and get the current loading information.
Info
A loaded sheet is always the priority on the loaded rolls. The software will always check first if a sheet is loaded or not.
You can force the print module to use specific feeding parameters (roll or sheet) by using the Print Module's specific settings (Printer > "Feeding" features). More details below.

Quality
The user can choose or customize a quality mode using the printer panel possibilities. The quality available links to a resolution and a type of media. In the previous image, the example of quality mode is "Fast 12ips 60%".
Info
It is not possible to print with the driver without synchronizing with the printer. The first synchronization can be done using the Caldera EasyMedia module.

Printer tab
Multiple boxes can be checked before starting to print a job:
- Check media type before printing (Enabled by default)
- Check media size before printing (Enabled by default)
- Display dual-side workflow messages (Enabled by default)
- Display printer warnings and information (Enabled by default)
Double-Sided Printing
This printer driver is compatible with Double-Sided Printing (DSP) features.

Dual Side input order. Defines how the incoming file (Multipage PDF) has been generated:
- Interleaved (AB-AB) => Page1=odd-Page2=even-Page3=odd-Page4=even
- Non Interleaved (AA-BB) => Page1=odd-Page2=odd-Page3=even-Page4=even

Dual Side print order. Defines how the file (Multipage PDF) will be sent to the controller:
- Interleaved (AB-AB) => Page1=odd-Page2=even-Page3=odd-Page4=even
- Non Interleaved (AA-BB) => Page1=odd-Page2=odd-Page3=even-Page4=even

Feeding

Auto (By default). This will automatically check and use the proper feeding possibility based on the print module loading choice.
Info
A loaded sheet is always the priority on the loaded rolls. The software will always check first if a sheet is loaded before checking the loaded rolls.
- Sheet Auto. Checks Sheet 1 and Sheet Feeder 1 location and automatically detects the sheet type (if available).
- Sheet 1. Forces the feeding on Sheet 1.
- Sheet Feeder 1. Force the feeding on Sheet Feeder 1
- Roll Auto => Check Rolls location and automatically set the proper Roll type (if available)
- Roll 1-6. Forces the feeding on Roll 1-6.
Advanced parameters

Use printer status (Disabled by default):
- Enable: mandatory, if you have the Caldera CostEstimation option. It is needed to get the ink consumption information back from the printer after the printing process.
- Disable: If you do not have or do not want to use the Caldera CostEstimation option for this driver.
Media tab
Most of the values/information listed in this tab are automatically displayed based on Resolution/Media/Mode/Quality selected in the main interface of the Print Module. Some of them cannot be edited like the Generic media name and the Generic media key.
Advanced parameters
- Set media thickness (Disabled by default): Enable the feature to fill a media thickness (mm).

You can save the media thickness value and link it to your media by using the "Save" button, as shown here:
Comments tab
You can add some comments linked to the media in the EasyMedia module. They will be visible in this Comments tab.
