Caldera Direct-to-X RIP - Settings

This article describes the general settings available in the software. Access them by opening the Settings menu:

Interface

Units

You can set your favorite units used throughout the software. Select one of the following options to match your working preferences:

  • Millimeters (mm)
  • Centimeters (cm)
  • Meters (m)
  • Inches (in)
  • Feet (ft)

 

Decimal place

You can also choose to display an additional decimal place for units using the corresponding toggle. The number of decimals varies depending on the unit selected:

ft 4 5

 

Language

You can change the Language used in the software. Choose one from the following available languages: 

  • Bengali
  • German
  • Greek
  • English
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Hindi
  • Croatian
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Portuguese
  • Russian
  • Turkish
  • Urdu
  • Chinese

 

Theme

Choose a Theme based on your preference and visual comfort. Select one of the available options:

File Manager

In addition to changing the view type directly from the File Manager, you can also define the following options in the Interface Settings:

  • Files per page: Sets the number of files displayed on each page.
  • Files per row: Sets the number of thumbnails displayed per row to make browsing easier.

 

Confirmation

  • Presets: When enabled, this toggle prompts a confirmation dialog before leaving the calibration process. This helps prevent exiting by mistake and leaving the printer calibration incomplete.
  • Studio: Enables or disables the confirmation dialog that appears when you attempt to Clear the Studio, which deletes all images within it.

 

Destination

This toggle enables or disables the gear icons in the Destination module, which provide quick access to device, media, and preset settings directly from that module.

 

Processing

Auto Alignment

Available in Caldera Direct-To-Film RIP.

Studio

Available in Caldera Direct-To-Film RIP.

  • Images mirroring: Enable this option to mirror images in Studio. If your printer controller already applies mirroring, leave this option disabled.

 

Jobs

  • Enable job cache: Enable this option to store processed job data in a temporary cache. This can reduce processing time when the same job is generated again.
  • Date and Time Postfix: Use this toggle to control whether the current date and time are added to generated output file names.
    • On: Adds a timestamp to the file name, helping distinguish files created at different times and preventing existing files from being overwritten.
    • Off: Saves files using the base file name without a date and time suffix.
