CalderaRIP V16.3 - Changelog

  Info

  • All users: During the installation, some configurations run in the background and these may seem relatively slow (especially on virtual machines). When the installation finishes, you will be asked to reboot: Please do not force the reboot yourself, as you may end up with an incomplete installation.
  • MacOS Ventura users: If an XQuartz update message appears after the CalderaRIP installation, please do not upgrade since the latest versions of this application present compatibility issues. If done already, then follow the instructions in this article to downgrade.

For the moment, the drivers for HP Latex 800 (W) and HP Latex 630 (W) are not compatible with macOS 11 (Big Sur). We are working to fix this but, in the meantime, it is recommended that concerned users upgrade their OS or use a Linux one.

Version 16.3

Modules

Improved

Installation (on Linux): The size of the installation ISO file has been downsized from 5GB to 3.2GB, freeing up more space for users' operation.

Improved

Tiling: Now the name of the generated tiles matches the label pattern.

Deprecated

Cost Management: Starting with this version, the CostView web module interface is deprecated.

The CostEstimation option (CostView + CostProof) is retired.

  Info

CostProof alone has been kept on CalderaRIP's Spooler and, in the near future, other new tools for cost and ink consumption management will be available.

Fixed

Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE): On macOS, update and fix of the color management issue that appeared in V16.0 due to an incompatibility with the previous version of APPE.

Fixed

Cost management: On macOS, and with the Adobe PDF Print Engine update, CostProof now works correctly.

Fixed

Installation / Server Admin: Fix a bug that caused custom drivers of the same product version not to work on different product patches.

Also, an inconsistency between the official build numbers and those contained in Caldera's system files was also corrected.
