CalderaRIP V18.2 - Changelog

  Info

  • All users: Some configurations are run in the background during the installation, which may seem relatively slow (especially on virtual machines). When the installation finishes, you will be asked to reboot. Please do not force the reboot yourself, as you may end up with an incomplete installation.
  • MacOS Ventura users: If an XQuartz update message appears after the CalderaRIP installation, please do not upgrade since the latest versions of this application present compatibility issues. If you have upgraded already, you can follow this article's instructions to downgrade.

Version 18.2.0

Fixed
Fileman: Resolved an issue with the module that could cause it to freeze when opening files, particularly Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) files. This issue may also impact files originating from Nexio and Hotfolders.

Fixed
Page Setup: Fixed an issue where the margins set in the ServerAdmin for some printers, like the Canon Colorado 16X0, were not correctly retrieved in the Page Setup.

Printer drivers

Improved

HP Latex 630W, 700W, 800W, 730W, and 830W: A new option, "Display White Printhead Warnings," is now available under Printer Settings    > Printer tab. When enabled, the printer driver will display two distinct messages based on your production:

  • For jobs with white ink, the driver will prompt you to unload the white ink printhead from the storage system, and install it following the instructions on the printer's control panel.

      Warning

If you don't install the white printhead, printing will continue without interruption; however, the controller will register an error.

For more information on handling white inks in these printers, please refer to the HP documentation (starting on page 202).

  • For jobs without white ink, the driver will recommend placing the white ink printhead in the storage system to extend its life.

Now included in the full installer:

Cutter drivers

New
Graphtec CE8000 Series.

New
Kala KalaXY Pro.

Fixed
Generic DXF: Fixed a regression introduced in version 17 that caused the "DXF R14 (Bezier Support)" option to disappear from the software. This option is now available in the Cutter Tools Configuration window and functions as intended.

Fixed

Summa F Series: Now, the Summa GoProduce and SummaFlex drivers can automatically execute cut jobs on printed media generated with CalderaRIP.

Previously, the associated barcodes were not detected due to overlapping with the origin of the registration marks.

While a manual execution workaround was available, this functionality has now been integrated into the software, allowing for improved detection and efficiency.

Fixed

Summa S Series: Now, these drivers can automatically execute cut jobs on printed media generated with CalderaRIP.

Previously, the square registration marks were not detected because their size was set at 5mm, which was too large for the cutting devices.

While a manual execution workaround was available, this functionality has now been integrated into the software, allowing for improved detection and efficiency.
