How to obtain or renew a Caldera demo license?

Caldera solutions are available for free trials, allowing you to experience how our products can enhance your productivity. This article guides you through the process of requesting a demo license for CalderaRIP or PrimeCenter. 

Before proceeding, please review the minimum installation requirements of our products as well as the compatibility with devices (printers, cutters, etc.).

An Internet connection is required to get a demo license. If your workstation does not have Internet access, or you do not wish to register yet, please contact our sales team directly. They can also guide you in case you want, for example, to test CalderaRIP through a virtual machine.

 

1. Create a Caldera account

To create an account, go to Caldera's customer portal WorkSpace, and fill in the account creation form. You will receive an activation email soon after.

2. Request a demo license

  1. Download at least version 3.9 of CalderaDock from the main dashboard of WorkSpace
    • Install it (need help with this? Click here).
    • Open it.
  2. If you haven't signed in yet, please sign in to your Caldera account:

     
  3. In the Home tab, click on the button to request a demo license:

    You can also find the button to request a demo license at the bottom left of the Licenses tab.

  4. Select the product for which you require a demo license:

     
  5. Select the reason why you need a demo license:

     
  6. In the last field, you can tell us more about yourself and your production needs:

     
  7. Click on the "Submit Request" button when you are done:

     
  8. Your demo license request was successful! You can now close the form:

     
  9. Now, check your email. You will receive a message containing an access number and an activation code, along with additional steps outlined in this article:

      Good to know

    If you don't see the email in your inbox, don't forget to check your Spam folder as well.
    If you or your organization use an email security service (such as Mailinblack), please ensure that the following email addresses are added to your whitelist (or allowlist) to guarantee uninterrupted communication:

  1. Once you have your WorkSpace account, go to the "My registered licenses" section. You can access it via the main dashboard, or by clicking on your name:

  2. In the “Request a temporary demo license” tab, fill in the form with the operating system you are going to use, the product you are interested in, as well as the number and specifications of the devices you need to pilot:

  3. Then submit the form by clicking on "Request a temporary demo license".
  4. A green banner will then appear indicating that your request has been successfully submitted.
  5. Now, check your email. You will receive a message containing an access number and an activation code, along with additional steps outlined in this article:

      Good to know

    Please note that the email may not arrive immediately, as demo key requests made through WorkSpace require validation from the Caldera team.
    If you don't see the email in your inbox, don't forget to check your Spam folder as well.
    If you or your organization use an email security service (such as Mailinblack), please ensure that the following email addresses are added to your whitelist (or allowlist) to guarantee uninterrupted communication:

3. (Optional) Renew a demo license

If you were unable to try the software during your demo license period, or would like to try it again, you can renew your demo license.

Have your 6-digit license access number ready, as it will be required for the request.

  1. Open CalderaDock.
  2. If you haven't signed in yet, please sign in to your Caldera account:
  3. Navigate to the Licenses tab. At the bottom of the left panel, click on “Renew a Demo License”:

  4. Complete the form by entering the access number for the demo license you wish to renew, selecting the reason for the trial, and providing some information about yourself and your production needs.
  5. When you submit your renewal request, you will receive one of two possible messages:
    • "Your demo license renewal was successful! 🎉": After seeing this message, you will receive an email with the original demo license details and the update to its validity period.
      • If you have already activated the license, simply wait a few minutes or restart CalderaDock for the license update to take effect. Once updated, you can restart the Caldera software and continue your trial.
      • If you have not yet activated the license, please proceed to the next step.
    • "License request rejected": This message indicates that you have exceeded the limit of demo license renewal requests for your account type. No action is needed, as our team will be notified and will contact you.
      If you need immediate assistance, you can reach out to support using the link provided below the rejection message.

 

4. Activate / Register your license

5. Install your Caldera product

Get CalderaRIP or PrimeCenter's latest versions from the Applications tab of CalderaDock. After downloading the installation file and clicking on it, the installation Wizard will guide you through the process. But if you need to, you can also refer to each of the guides:
