Info
- All users: Some configurations are run in the background during the installation, which may seem relatively slow (especially on virtual machines). When the installation finishes, you will be asked to reboot: Please do not force the reboot yourself, as you may end up with an incomplete installation.
- MacOS Ventura users: If an XQuartz update message appears after the CalderaRIP installation, please do not upgrade since the latest versions of this application present compatibility issues. If you have upgraded already, you can follow this article's instructions to downgrade.
November 2024

Modules
New
Adobe PDF Print Engine: Integration of the latest generation of this tool (V6.3). |
New
OS: macOS Sequoia (version 15) is now officially supported. |
Improved
Color Management: We have added an option to apply a standard post-ICC separation (V3.3d) for the CMYKORG print mode. InfoThe new separation option is available for compatible printers (for example, JHF Venus) in CMYK or RGB profiling on the EasyMedia module. |
Improved
Cut management / User Experience: When a cutter was selected for which the user did not have a license, no error was displayed until the end of the printing process, wasting material and inks. Now the error is displayed before the job is printed. |
Improved
Improved
Print Management: You can now rename a printer driver, without losing the associated presets. |
Improved
Print Standard Verifier: We have updated the following standards:
Removed
KeyManager. Following its deprecation on V17.2, the KeyManager module is now officially removed. InfoKeyManager was a legacy module for managing CalderaRIP licenses manually. We recommend that you download CalderaDock, the toolbox that has intuitively and automatically managed CalderaRIP or any other Caldera product licenses since its version 2.0 (November 2022). If you need help with the installation, click here. |
Removed
OS. As of this version, the following operating systems are no longer supported:
Fixed
User Experience: We fixed a bug that prevented the software from updating licenses by itself (without needing CalderaDock). |
Now available to all users
(Features that were previously exclusive to CalderaCare subscribers)
- Bicubic resampling.
- RAL 2024 Spot Color Libraries.
- QuickPrint's automatic export naming.
- "Mark image as done" (via Print module).
- HotFolder's "Processing order" menu.
New
Caldera REST API: CalderaRIP now allows the REST API to expose data about the loaded media, ink containers, waste ink containers, and heaters of some printers (except for HP, Canon Pro, Mutoh, and printers with a Grand license). That data can now also be queried by an external system, such as an ERP. |
New
Cut Management: New Smart Materials feature that allows automatic association between a printer's media and a cutter's material. Learn more. InfoAvailable for devices that allow material/method associations. |
Improved
Cut Management: This version includes new options for selecting the type and shape of the background of the marks, as well as new ways of combining them with the surroundings. Learn more. |
Improved
Fotoba: This trimmer now allows cutting only vertically (no horizontal cutting and therefore no horizontal marks), improving cutting speed and directly rewinding smaller rolls. |
Still exclusive to CalderaCare subscribers
Printer drivers
Improved
HP Latex 2700 (W) and R Series: Added “Transfer at once” feature to the driver, which generates print files in the local Caldera temporary directory and copies them at once to the destination (avoiding possible SMB problems). |
Improved
Roland TrueVIS XP640: Now the CMYKKOGR driver can be used with the Custom Inkset option. |
Fixed
Mutoh ValueJet 1628MH: The CMYKOGB print mode can now be used with a license without NColor. |
Now included in the full installer:
Cutter and Trimmer drivers
New
Generic DXF (Enhanced): New driver developed to manage methods and materials. |
New
Neolt X DTF trimmer. |
Improved
Mimaki CJV330 (VisualCut): The driver now has the capability to read horizontal intermediate marks in cutting jobs.
InfoPriority is given to vertical intermediate marks if there are any. If there are none, then the horizontal intermediate marks are selected. |
Improved
VisualCut (several drivers): The user experience has been improved by limiting the values of Marks Placement in the Cutter Tools Configuration. The size of horizontal or vertical marks now ranges from 10 to 50 mm, while the thickness ranges from 1 to 2 mm, thus preventing you from using values outside the limits of the following:
Removed
ZCC, ZCC3, and ZCC4: As suggested by the manufacturer, we removed the “Methods” section from the output file of these drivers, as well as the “Cutting Mode” and “Registration Type” options present in the drivers' interface (in the Main Settings and Marks tabs of the Cutter Tools Configuration). The removal improves the workflow with the ZCC software, avoiding inconsistent or duplicate values. InfoIf your production requires these options, do not forget to configure them directly in the ZCC software. Contact the manufacturer for more information. |
Fixed
Cut management: Correction of the file name/ID generation process, to avoid names with negative or incorrect values. This fix applies to all drivers that have a cutting ID option, such as Mimaki UCJV, Mimaki CJV330 (VisualCut driver) or Mimaki CF22(XX), etc. |
