• In semi-automatic mode, you can change the output hotfolder for your print files on the fly with the new "Print to..." and "Print to... & Cut" actions. More info

• The export actions have been renamed to "Print to..." and "Print to... & Cut" to be consistent with the other packages, but the behavior has not changed.

Double-sided printing:

• The software was generating a side B based on the side A even if the "Generate automatically (based on Side A images)" option was disabled.
• Cut marks are now placed correctly when using double-sided printing combined with rectangular nesting.

• Changing the number of copies of a layout and renaming it are now correctly applied when the layout is locked.
• The Estimated time is now correctly displayed in German language.

Double-sided printing: No more alignment problems when files include a bleed.

Cutter options: For Zund cutters, fixed mismatch between material size and job size.

Double-sided printing:

• No more matching problems when creating layouts from multi-page PDFs with even pages already mirrored.
• The cut registration marks are now well aligned between side A and side B.
• Applying rectangular nesting to files that already contained side A and side B randomly resulted in a size error on side B. This is now fixed.
• Applying rectangular nesting to images with contours caused parts of the images to be masked on page B. This is now fixed and both sides match.
• No more flipping problems when rotation is applied by the nesting to some images.

Check/Fix: With the Basic package it was no longer possible to apply custom preflight profiles. This is now fixed.

File Manager & Properties:

• The number of copies metadata extracted from the file name or via an XML job ticket was not displayed correctly in the image properties.
• Metadata was not saved correctly when importing images with the "Insert" button.

Input: On Windows OS,

• files with foreign font names can now be processed.
• files with umlauts in the name can now be processed.

File Manager & Properties: When dragging and dropping multiple images at once, the number of copies is now taken into account.

User experience:

• Long texts in small fields are easier to read especially with mouse-over titles.
• In the Global hotfolder tab, if the "Extract properties from file name" field contains a lot of text, the panel automatically enlarges to make it easier to read.

Check/Fix:

• The list of preflight profiles has been updated - More info
• The "Convert to PDFX-X" profile used on an output file resulted in an error. Now it works correctly.
• The "Fill Contour with Color" profile caused an unwanted shift and the fill extended beyond the stroke. This has been fixed.

Cutter options:

• Enabling "Rotate QRcodes towards center" affected the rotation of barcodes. This is no longer the case.
• The "Get estimated cutting time" option remained enabled when changing the cutter from a ZCC to a generic one, resulting in an error.

XML job tickets:

• Using the "pages" tag resulted in an error or bad output files.
• If the file path was missing in the input ticket, the software would crash. Now an error is displayed.

Installation: For Linux OS, it is no longer possible to install PrimeCenter from one distribution on another distribution.

Nesting: The default rotation steps that are suggested have been changed from 45°, 90° and 180° to 0°, 90°, 180° and 270°.

Settings:

• The list of shortcuts has been improved.
• The "Display to the nearest tenth" option has been renamed to "Display one more decimal place" for a better understanding.
• More generally, translations have been improved.

User interface:

• Changed some margins to get better readability, and to keep the same display everywhere.
• Dropdown menus are now clearly visible, even when they are close to the edge of the interface.

Input:

• In automatic mode with a nesting threshold defined with a start time, when the recipe was stopped, all waiting files were moved to the folder defined for success instead of waiting for the start time to be processed.
• The error message indicating that a property is missing when extracting properties from the filename was no longer displayed.

Recipes Management: There were some issues with the status of recipes being on hold or in progress when it was not. This is now fixed.

  A new folder named "New in v2.4.0" will be automatically created in preflight-profiles folder at the software update. Old profiles will still be available, up to you to keep or delete them depending on your usage. Read this article for more information about organizing your fixup list.

• Preflight profile variables are displayed in a more legible manner.

User experience:

• The lists and their functionality were harmonized throughout the software.
• The fields containing input tokens for selecting metadata in a list have been improved for better usability.

Check/Fix:

• On Windows OS, in the menu to manually apply a preflight profile on a file, it was not possible to use the scroll bar to scroll the list.
• There was a difference of behavior when pressing Tab key or Enter key in a field that includes a unit. Now both validate the input number.

File Manager & Properties:

• An internal error when opening PDF files was fixed with the callas update.
• Preview of PNG files now includes overprint simulation.

Pages:

• The format search feature now works properly.
• German translation errors were corrected.

• Now you can select multiple formats for a given media in a single recipe. No longer need to set up one recipe per media size - More info

• If multiple formats are selected, the best format (with the least amount of waste) to nest the jobs will be suggested to you - More info

• Input tickets can force the page format thanks to new included parameters that override format parameters of a recipe - More info

Cutter options:

• Default values in inch unit were changed to better reflect the user's need.
• When importing a recipe with a cutter whose name does not match existing ones, you are now invited to select another cutter in the list.

File Manager & Properties:

• The loading speed for multipage PDF files has been improved.
• The Enter key shortcut behavior to insert images in the Studio was changed. When an image is selected in the File Manager, pressing it no longer inserts images. You can now use this shortcut when:
  • the quantity field is selected,
  • or the "Insert" button is selected.

Layouts:

• Copy-paste is compatible with the renaming of layouts.
• On macOS, by pressing the backspace key when a layout is selected, you are now asked to confirm the deletion of the layout.

User experience:

• The information texts are displayed in a more uniform way.
• The "Methods" tab is now hidden when a PDF cutter is selected as we can't associate cut contours with methods with this type of cutter.
• New Asian font for better readability.
• The error message when the print output folder is wrong is more understandable.

• When synchronizing a ZCC cutter, the request sent to the controller used a wrong command. The "statusinfo" command was replaced by the "statusinforequest" command to avoid troubles.

• Unselecting a cutter without disabling the "Automatic cut file export" no longer created an error.

Recipes: The control buttons were not clickable when an error occurred. They are now always usable.
