Info
- All users: Some configurations are run in the background during the installation, which may seem relatively slow (especially on virtual machines). When the installation finishes, you will be asked to reboot. Please do not force the reboot yourself, as you may end up with an incomplete installation.
- MacOS users: If an XQuartz update message appears after the CalderaRIP installation, please do not upgrade since the latest versions of this application present compatibility issues. If you have upgraded already, you can follow this article's instructions to downgrade.

Printer drivers
Fixed |
swissQprint Karibu: Fixed an issue that prevented this driver from displaying the correct height and width of pages after importing the .sqpe file. Media now has the accurate dimensions following the import. |
Now included in the full installer
Cutter drivers
Fixed |
Fotoba (ASP): Fixed a bug with the trimmer that led to fewer or overlapping copies of images due to insufficient space. The trimmer now correctly displays selected copies in the preview and nests them in the output file. If space is limited, a second nesting page is generated. |
Fixed |
Summa Dual Cutters: Corrected an issue that prevented this driver from executing cutting jobs from cut-ready files generated with CalderaRIP due to a mismatch in the size of the registration marks and those on the associated printed media. The marks now match correctly. |
Spectrophotometer drivers
Fixed |
X-Rite i1 Pro 3: Fixed a bug that caused patch-by-patch (spot) scanning mode in any target to be correctly executed only for the first patch of each line, leaving all subsequent patches set to black. This scanning mode now functions correctly. |

Version 19.0.0
New |
Adobe PDF Print Engine: Integration of the latest generation of this this tool (V7). InfoTo use this version of Adobe PDF Print Engine your computer's processor must support AVX2 (Advanced Vector Extensions 2) instructions. Learn more. |
New |
OS: CalderaRIP is now compatible with the latest macOS 26 Tahoe. CautionThere is a known interface issue with this macOS version, so we recommend delaying any updates until further notice. Learn more. |
Improved |
FileMan: With the integration of the latest version of Adobe PDF Print Engine, FileMan can now process files up to 20% faster than in previous versions. |
Improved |
Print Module / Multilayer: New automation capabilities are now available for users of Caldera software and printers with multi-layer printing functionality. InfoFor information on driver compatibility, see the chapter on printer drivers. With PrimeCenter V4.4 and later, users can prepare files for automated multi-layer printing in CalderaRIP version 19 and above. This new integration allows for seamless configuration of multi-layer files, ensuring the correct layer settings are applied when sending to CalderaRIP, whether manually, through FileMan, or automatically via Hotfolders. Further automation of multi-layer file processing is now possible with the new capability to manage printer multi-layer configurations in the same way as Workflows (right-click on the multi-layer file and select "Send to..."). Lastly, certain incompatible options in the Page Setup are now automatically disabled when handling multi-layer jobs. You might be interested in reading: |
Removed |
FileMan: Starting with this version, the Ghostscript interpreter, which enabled the processing of PostScript and PDF files in earlier versions of CalderaRIP, has been removed. InfoIf you attempt to print a file that was imported using Ghostscript, or if your hotfolders contain Ghostscript files, CalderaRIP will indicate the incompatibility. You will need to re-import the file using the Adobe PDF Print Engine, which is now the only interpreter configured by default. |
Removed |
OS: CalderaRIP is no longer compatible with macOS 13 Ventura. |
Fixed |
Nexio: Fixed an issue for Nexio users on Ubuntu where starting the JobTracker JDF module resulted in no action (not even an error message), despite the RIP being active. The module now functions as expected. |
Fixed |
Print Module: Fixed an issue in Client-Server setups where the CalderaRIP server on macOS caused the Print Module on the Ubuntu client to crash (displaying "Server Interrupted by SIGSEGV, Internal Error") when ripping or rasterizing the job. |
Printer drivers
Improved |
Several drivers: All drivers for printers that can handle multi-layer printing now include the ability to automate the processing of files from PrimeCenter. This means you can use them without needing to change any settings. However, the following printers now have dedicated "-ML" drivers due to the complexity of their multi-layer printing technologies: WarningBefore switching to your multilayer driver from V19, ensure that you re-import your customized color management settings and presets (also known as QuickPrints or QuickConfigs). Learn more.
InfoPreviously, other multilayer drivers were available, but some were not publicly accessible. Now, all of these are publicly available and have been improved with the new mechanism. Printers/Drivers Concerned
Users of the previous multilayer drivers do not need to purchase a new driver; however, only one driver can operate at a time. |
Now included in the full installer:
Known Issue
While this version is compatible with macOS Tahoe, users may experience window refresh issues when resizing. This is due to changes in the macOS graphics system affecting XQuartz, the system on which CalderaRIP relies for its graphical user interface (GUI) on macOS.
We recommend not updating your macOS at this time until further notice.
A temporary workaround involves minimizing the affected window and reopening it from the Dock, which forces a redraw and restores visibility. Here’s a short video demonstrating this workaround.
